I actually know some really amazing women. They just dont know it yet!
What does this election mean for Australia’s Arts and even Fashion scene?

I woke up this morning thinking about my coming months. I started to get really excited about them. Not in the “I’m going overseas or I just won a million dollars” way. But in that smile like a crazy person standing by yourself at the bus stop while looking at your odd socks way.
Last week was an amazing week for the South Australian arts scene. From some fabulous exhibition openings to the Ruby/AbaF awards held at the Adelaide Festival Centre on Thursday night. With fantastic results! Huge congratulations to them all.
But if I were to pass judgement on the night, and I will, it would be the oddly placed women delivering the awards. Of course we all know about the beautiful women who stand with their long flowing gowns holding the trophies at the Academy Awards. Well, the Ruby’s must have seen this and thought “gee whiz, let’s do the same”. But instead of slim, tall, modelesque women, they used short, tubbyish (still gorgeous) women with very short dresses and bad heels. Those like Pamela Anderson would wear, on a yacht maybe making a film? Why did they feel the need to employ these ill-fitting women? I have no idea, but watching them made most of the crowd uncomfortable.
On to Friday night. The night where when you go to town, there are always beautiful men and women in suits. Makes me happy. I attended the Divine Madness Fashion Parade at the Richmond Hotels First Bar. What a fantastic night.
Greeted by a couple covered in body paint handing out drink offers – FRABJOUS. Is there nothing better than a glass of Rosemont Ruby-O? My date for the night was Ms Jacquie Lee, a fabulous writer, dresser and date! We jumped at the chance of front row seating. Sitting next to the frabjous Stephanie Mountzouris, who had just returned from New York where she had been working with Patricia Field – stylist to the stars, and as every girl knows, stylist to Sex and the City! And on our far left is Matea an up and coming Adelaide shoe maker.

All in all, the clothes were madness. Brilliant and modern. With a nice blend of bright colours and calm whites this label is set to soar. I look forward to seeing these designs at Melbourne Fashion week next year. http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=100000345873689&v=info&ref=ts
As for my weekend, it wasnt as thrilling, but I can’t complain! I was swept off my feet by the ever wonderful Jeremy Watson, photographer, comedian, friend and all round good Yorkshireman. With a few hours to spare, we hit up my new favourite vintage store on Grote street in Adelaide’s CBD (Antique Market). What I discovered? A land of fashion, toys, photos and fun!
Returning in a fortnight to over spend. Will keep you posted!
As for now, keep dancing!

Hi world (she wrote in fear the world would answer)
I’ve often wonder where people get the idea, even the confidence to make a blog. I mean really, who is that interested in what you or I have to say beyond out friends and family. But after much consideration, and fear, I’ve decided to make one.
What I will write about – Gosh, I don’t know. What could be so interesting that you the public would want to read it, or see it. I figured I will spend 3% ranting about shoes, 15% talking about my adventures around this crazy place we call Australia, 26% dribbling about some odd event, location or person I have seen, 9% about my friends, 11% about art, 5.5% about my dislike of something and the last 30.5% about fashion! Please don’t quote me on this.
Can I back track and talk about things from last week? Or last month? Or is that against the rules of blogging. Section G34.2?
And so we begin!
As for now – Keep Smiling
